Anti-Election Integrity Progressive Democrats and their media cheerleaders are trying to stop Georgia from complying with its own laws

Arlington, VA – Georgia’s Election Board has agreed to new rules establishing standard procedures for counties to comply with existing state laws, including a mandate that the number of registered voters and the number of ballots cast be reconciled (i.e. matched) prior to certification.

Despite state statute § 21-2-493(b), which explicitly states that if the number of ballots exceeds the number of voters in any precinct “such excess shall be deemed a discrepancy and palpable error and shall be investigated” prior to recording votes, anti-Election Integrity operatives such as Soros-tied David Becker and the Left-wing media are melting down to stop Georgia from following its laws while intimidating election officials into violating their sworn oaths.

No, the role of election officials is not “ministerial” or “ceremonial”—by statute they are required to ensure (and investigate if necessary) that elections are free from “fraud, deceit, or abuse” and that the results are accurate prior to certification.

In signing a certification, county election board members (and superintendents) attest subject to felony prosecution that the vote count is accurate.

MYTH vs. FACT: 2024 GEORGIA STATE ELECTION BOARD RULES

A group of activists led in part by Democrat state senator Nabilah Islam-Parkes, who falsely insists that Election Boards lack authority to look into vote discrepancies, recently urged Gov. Brian Kemp to take retaliatory action against three Board members.

“The election board is supposed to certify election results and so passing illegal rules to undermine the integrity of our elections is extremely concerning,” she said.

Every aspect of Islam-Parkes’ statement is wrong.

The existing statute, from which the “reconciliation” rule is derived virtually word for word, can be found here:
